Terms and conditions to obtain a copy of
DFTB Slater-Koster files

Preamble

In the following, the term “DFTB-parameters” refers to the homo- and heteronuclear parameter files in the parameter sets distributed from the DFTB.ORG website. These parameter files contain the Slater-Koster type one- and twocenter integrals, the repulsive energy contributions and any other atomic or diatomic parameters needed by DFTB calculations.

This licence covers the use of the DFTB Slater-Koster files for academic, educational and non-profit research, other uses may be arranged individually.

Mandatory terms and conditions

I request a copy of the DFTB parameter sets as distributed from the DFTB.ORG website and therefore I agree to the following terms and conditions:

  1. All title, ownership and rights to DFTB-parameters or to any copies of it remain with the authors as applicable by national law, regardless of the ownership of the media on which the parameters are used or stored. The authors of the individual Slater-Koster files are specified in the documentation section of every file.

  2. I will not provide a copy of the DFTB-parameters in any way to anyone for any reason whatsoever. Excepted is only the making of copies of the DFTB-parameters for backup purposes, or to use it on any of my group's computer resources. I will refer any request for copies of the parameters to the contact address specified on the DFTB.ORG site. Anyone directly associated with my research group is covered by the licence and may share my copy of the DFTB-parameters on all of my group's computer resources as long as they agree to the mandatory terms and conditions.

  3. I will not incorporate any part of the DFTB-parameters into any other computer code or program system without written permission of the authors.

  4. The DFTB-parameters and any documentation is supplied on an as is basis without any warranty, and thus with no additional responsibility or liability.

  5. In any publication, I will indicate the name(s) of the parameter set(s) used in my calculations, and I will make reference to those publications, in which the construction and test of the used Slater-Koster files is described. For every Slater-Koster file the publication to cite is given in the documentation section of the file. For convenience those papers may be also documented on the website DFTB.ORG or elsewhere. In a case of discrepancy the papers specified in the Slater-Koster files are authoritative.
